Description
Located in a National Register of Historic Places District, the museum is housed in an elegantly simple Greek Revival building. Other museum buildings include the Old Jail (1848), Train Depot (1901) and a modern Carriage House. At GCM, you will see period rooms and permanent exhibits, including the new Carolinas Textile Exhibit and NC's largest exhibit of horse-drawn vehicles. Changing exhibits illuminate regional history and visual arts.
