The cornerstone of the York Rite Memorial Chapel was laid on April 30th, 1951. The deceptively large building boasts a spacious sanctuary, a prayer/meditation room upstairs that was once used for psychotherapy sessions, and six large Sunday School classrooms. The rectangular shape of the sanctuary, its tile floor and cinderblock walls create an excellent acoustical environment for the childrens' choir's performances.
The chapel was renovated from 1997 to 1999: the altar and choir pews have been rearranged to allow space for a Yamaha baby grand piano and an Allen digital organ, given to the Home in the Spring of 1999. Ten stained glass windows were installed as well. The spacious basement of the chapel, used as a small auditorium for theatrical productions, now houses a media center, computer lab, and study area for all the students of the Home.
