Apartheid: (nearly) two decades out

On May 10, 1994 Nelson Mandela was sworn in as South Africa’s president. The day was a leap forward for South Africa and the world, yet the impacts of Apartheid are still present today.

ibiblio’s catalog features an interactive photo project, South Africa: Ten Years On that looked at how the country had changed ten years after apartheid’s end.

Ten Years On  is a compelling portait of a country and its people. how has the country changed now nearly twenty years later?

McGuinn records and posts new folk song every month on The Folk Den. In 2002 a CD collection of these postings, Treasures from the Folk Den was nominated for a Grammy award for Best Traditional Folk Album.
