Version is now 5.8

The viewer/editor is now called wpclipper, and its "copy to clipboard" function now is able to paste into documents in OpenOffice, AbiWord, MS Word, Wordpad as well as GTK-bsed applications such as the GIMP. Other changes to the viewer include better management of memory during image manipulation, click thumbnail to view full-sized, no longer has a splash screen, user can save edited images to PNG or JPG -- as well as the interface differences.

Windows users can install without worry of any dependencies. The viewer has beeen tested on XP and 2000. Linux users will need the following (although most are usually present on recent distributions):

Windows Installer version 5.8 This package contains all the clipart along with the viewer/editor application. There is also an uninstall feature available, no extra dependencies are needed for use on Windows 2000, XP or Vista. (5.8 fixes opening of JPEG files, previously forgot to package needed DLL with installer.) Simple Compressed Version 5.8 This BZ2 file contains all the clipart along with the viewer/editor python script. (This application is useful, but is NOT necessary in order to use the clipart, as it is all in standard PNG format.) The source script (wpclipper.py) is included in the viewer folder. The Windows version needs to be installed either with the complete package, or with the viewer-only installer. wpclippper stand-alone script For use on Linux macines (such as mine) The file wpclipper.py is included in the zipped version of the collection, and is always also available right online at WPClipart in the viewer folder.

Windows Installer ... Usually has the latest Windows installer, including the viewer/editor and all of the clipart. For non-priority (free) listings it takes them a while to download, test and list the new package, so check which version they have listed.
