Introduction and Mission

Welcome to the Poetry Project. The mission of the Poetry Project is to compile biographical information on the most important contemporary poets in the world. The poetry project is run by educators and other volunteers. All of the information compiled will be free and open for all to use. We also intend on establishing a method for school children to send letters and poetry to famous poets, who will in turn respond during the school year.

Nominated Poets under Consideration for Induction

We have just started the research process and the names below only point to a Google.com search. In the future, we will begin filling out the biographical information. The list below is not final, and is just a beginning. If you have suggestions or would like to make a nomination please contact us. Inclusion into the "Contemporary Poets Hall of Fame" is by induction only.
