The UNC Herbarium
On July 1, 2000,
the Herbarium of the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill (NCU) will officially become a part
of the North Carolina Botanical Garden. Plans for
the new Herbarium and Botanical Library Building have
been completed and await legislative approval. This
is a very exciting time for the herbarium and all
its supporters and users. Check out the Herbarium

Recently featured (again) in
nationwide media, this website details the art of
hollerin' in Spivey's Corner, NC. Not just aimless
shouting, the art of hollerin' has been used for years
as a means of communication between distant neighbors
in the mountains of North Carolina.
