Our aim is to stimulate collaborative research among NGOs, journalists, activists, whistleblowers and academics from both the global South and North in order to develop publicly-available profiles of the world's most powerful corporations. The result is an evolving compendium of critical research, posted to the public domain as an aid to anyone working to hold corporations increasingly accountable.

RecordsQuest aims to supplement online news by offering relevant public records alongside any given story. If you are reading a news story online, why should you have to take that reporters word for it? Wouldn't it be nice to just click on a citation, and download the relevant public record? The entire readership of any news website would be fact checkers!
Follow up stories would abound. Debunking journalists and big shot opinion columnists would become the norm. Letters to the editor would be backgrounded on fact, and journalists printing a story online could say, "If you don't believe me, take a look for yourself."
Also, this can make the analysis of public records a routine act of democratic participation. High school civics taught us that an informed public is good for democracy, didn't it? So, lets get informed.
Groklaw
"When you want to know more but don't know where to look." Groklaw is a comprehensive legal news resource created by Pamela Jones. It is a journalistic enterprise whose aim is to unite people to work together knowledgeably to contribute to the defense of Linux, the kernel, and Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). Groklaw contains an archive of every significant element in the history of the SCO v. IBM, SCO v. Novell, SCO v. AutoZone, SCO v. DaimlerChrysler and Red Hat v. SCO lawsuits, including transcripts of the legal documents filed in plain text and transcripts of teleconferences and media events.
